By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, Aug. 17 - Easy Gardener Products Ltd. requested a 45-day extension to its exclusive period to solicit votes on its plan of liquidation, according to a Wednesday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The company wants to extend its exclusive solicitation period to Nov. 29 from Oct. 16.

According to the motion, since the hearing on approval of the company's disclosure statement will not be held until Sept. 20, it may not be able to solicit votes on the plan by Oct. 16.

Easy Gardener filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on May 10. The company is a Waco, Texas-based manufacturer and marketer of consumer lawn and garden products. Its Chapter 11 case number is 06-10396.
