Kodak benefit recipients eye official retiree committee representation

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, March 13 - A group of Eastman Kodak Co. retiree benefits recipients has asked the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York to appoint a retiree committee for the company's bankruptcy case, according to a Tuesday court filing.

"Given the debtors' intention to terminate benefits and seek other modifications of their legacy liabilities, a retiree committee is appropriate," the motion said.

Specifically, the motion was filed by 10 individuals who are receiving and will soon be eligible to receive retiree benefits.

Kodak is a Rochester, N.Y.-based imaging technology products and services provider to the photographic and graphic communications markets. The company filed for bankruptcy on Jan. 19. Its Chapter 11 case number is 12-10202.
