Eastern Illinois University planning to price $84.55 million in COPs

New York, Sept. 4 - The Board of Trustees of Eastern Illinois University is set to sell $84.55 million in series 2009A energy conservation projects certificates of participation, according to a preliminary official statement.

The COPs (A2) will be sold on a negotiated basis with Edward D. Jones & Co. LP and Barclays Capital Inc. as the lead managers.

The certificates are due 2013 to 2024 with term bonds due 2029 and 2036.

Proceeds will be used to construct a renewable power center to replace the university's existing coal-fired heat and power facility, as well as to replace and upgrade other energy facilities to make them more environmentally friendly.

Eastern Illinois University is based in Charleston, Ill.
