Moody's gives Aa2 to East Bay, Calif., utility bonds

Moody's Investors Service said it assigned Aa2 underlying long-term ratings and VMIG1 short-term ratings to East Bay Municipal Utility District's $874.525 million of water system subordinated revenue refunding bonds, series 2008A, 2008B and 2008C.

The issue consists of $322.525 million of series 2008A, $160 million of series 2008B and $392 million of series 2008C.

The series 2008A and series 2008C bonds were sold on March 19. Series 2008B is expected to sell on April 24.

The outlook is stable.
