Fitch rates Alberto-Culver notes BBB+

Fitch Ratings said it assigned a rating of BBB+ to Alberto-Culver Co.'s $150 million of 5.15% senior unsecured note, which matures on June 1, 2020.

Proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes, the agency said.

Fitch currently rates Alberto's issuer default rating BBB+. The BBB+ rating also applies to Alberto's $300 million revolving credit facility.

The outlook is stable.

The ratings and outlook reflect Alberto's strong balance sheet and liquidity, well known brands, and long history of competing successfully against far larger peers, the agency noted.
