Eagle Food Centers files motion to extend exclusivity period to Dec. 1

Chicago, Nov. 13 - Eagle Food Centers Inc. has filed a motion to extend the period in which the company has a right to exclusively file a reorganization plan through Dec. 1.

The company also obtained approval to extend the period in which it can solicit and obtain acceptances to the plan to Feb. 29, 2004.

Based in Milan, Ill., Eagle owns and operates 59 supermarkets in Illinois and Iowa. Eagle filed the motion in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Northern District of Illinois.
