Dreyfus names Rabasco, Burger as co-managers of two municipal funds

Morgantown, W.Va., July 25 – Dreyfus Strategic Municipal Bond Fund, Inc. and Dreyfus Strategic Municipals, Inc. have each appointed Daniel Rabasco as co-primary portfolio manager. Each fund’s board of directors approved the appointment on Monday.
Rabasco will co-manage the funds (NYSE: DSM and NYSE: LEO) with Jeffrey Burger.
Last week, Dreyfus Municipal Income, Inc. (NYSE: DMF) appointed Rabasco as co-primary portfolio manager alongside Burger.
Rabasco is the chief investment officer for tax sensitive fixed income at Standish Mellon Asset Management Co. LLC, an affiliate of Dreyfus. Prior to being named CIO, he was head of trading for tax exempt bonds, responsible for managing the municipal bond trading desk.
Rabasco joined Standish in 1998 from Fleet Investment Advisors. At Fleet he directed the municipal bond group, which managed mutual fund, common trust fund and high net worth client assets.
He was also vice president and portfolio manager at Evergreen Investments, where he managed national and state specific mutual funds.
Rabasco began his career in municipal bonds in 1987 at Liberty Insurance Co. as an analyst.
Burger is a senior portfolio manager for tax sensitive strategies at Standish. He manages tax-sensitive strategies for institutional, high net worth and mutual fund clients. Previously, he was a senior analyst for Standish, specializing in land secured and special tax bonds.
Prior to joining Standish in 2009, Burger worked at Columbia Management as a portfolio manager and senior research analyst and previously held a senior level analyst position at Fitch Ratings.
New York-based Dreyfus Corp. is the funds’ investment adviser.
