S&P ups Domtar outlook to positive

Standard & Poor's said it revised its outlook on Domtar Corp. to positive from negative.

At the same time, the agency said it affirmed its ratings, including the BB long-term corporate credit rating on the company.

"We base the outlook revision on expected debt reduction and better-than-expected operating performance," said credit analyst Jatinder Mall.

The ratings on Domtar reflect S&P's view of the company's leading market position in the North American uncoated free sheet market and good cost profile.
