Diana Shipping files $545.172 million shelf

New York, Dec. 13 - Diana Shipping Inc. registered to sell up to $545.172 million of securities, including a secondary offering of 8 million common shares at $15.24 each, in an F-3 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Covered by the shelf are common shares, preferred shares, debt securities, guarantees, warrants, purchase contracts and units. Securities may be structured as convertibles.

Proceeds will go toward vessel acquisitions, capital expenditures, repayment of debt, working capital and general corporate purposes.

The Athens, Greece, company owns and operates dry bulk carriers that transport iron ore, coal, grain and other dry cargoes.
