Deutsche Bank adds Douglas Runte as head of aviation debt research

By Toni Weeks

San Diego, April 25 - Deutsche Bank Securities Inc. announced in a press release that Douglas Runte will join the firm as a managing director and head of aviation debt research within the markets division.

Runte, who will be based in New York, will cover the transportation sector, focusing on airline, aircraft lessor and other aircraft-related debt across the investment-grade, high-yield and ABS markets.

He joins the firm from Piper Jaffray, where he was a managing director and senior aviation analyst. Previously he worked at Morgan Stanley as the senior analyst for both debt and equity for North American airlines and aircraft-backed securities.

"Doug is one of the top debt analysts in the transportation sector, and we're delighted to welcome him," Steve Abrahams, Deutsche's managing director and head of securitization and mortgage-backed securities research, said in the release.

"His significant knowledge of the airline industry and strong record of providing actionable market ideas will further enhance our industry-leading research platform."

The bank is based in Frankfurt.
