S&P lifts Detroit sewer bonds to A+, A

Standard & Poor's said it raised its underlying rating to A+ from A on Detroit's senior-lien sewer system bonds and its standard long-term rating and underlying rating to A from A- on the city's second-lien sewer system bonds.

About $390 million of debt is affected.

The outlook is stable.

S&P said the upgrade reflects the system's strong financial performance and management.
