S&P lifts Detroit water bonds to A+, A

Standard & Poor's said it raised its underlying rating on Detroit's senior-lien water support system bonds to A+ from A and raised its standard long-term rating and underlying rating on its second-lien water support system bonds to A from A-.

About $2 billion of debt was affected.
