California defeases $68.9 million of Department of Corrections bonds

Kansas City, Kan., Oct. 31 - The State Public Works Board of the State of California has defeased its $68,895,000 2004 series E Department of Corrections bonds, according to a notice.

The bonds were issued for the California State Prison - Lassen County, Susanville.

The bonds will be redeemed on June 1, 2014 at par plus accrued interest to the redemption date.

The following bonds are affected:

$2.5 million of 5% bonds due June 1, 2015;

$2,905,000 of 3.5% bonds due June 1, 2015;

$20.14 million of 5% bonds due June 1, 2016;

$185,000 of 3.75% bonds due June 1, 2017;

$20.96 million of 5% bonds due June 1, 2017; and

$22,205,000 of 5% bonds due June 1, 2018.

The treasurer of the state of California is the escrow agent.
