Delta unit's pilot contract rejection appealed by union

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, Dec. 29 - The order approving Delta Air Lines, Inc. debtor Comair, Inc.'s rejection of its pilots' collective bargaining agreement was appealed Thursday by the Air Line Pilots Association, according to a filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

As previously reported, Comair is seeking an injunction against a threatened pilot strike after ALPA leaders at Comair stated that they will launch strike activity in response to any implemented contract changes.

Delta said it planned to enforce contract terms beginning Dec. 30.

Delta, an Atlanta-based airline, filed for bankruptcy on Sept. 14, 2005. Its Chapter 11 case number is 05-17923.
