S&P puts Air 2 US notes on watch

Standard & Poor's said it placed its ratings on the Air 2 US LLC enhanced equipment notes series A and series B on CreditWatch with negative implications.

The series A notes are rated BB- while the series B notes are rated B-.

According to the agency, the rating action is based on the May 23 CreditWatch listing of American Airlines Inc. (B/Watch negative) and United Air Lines Inc. (B/Watch negative) ratings.

This special-purpose entity relies on lease rental payments on planes leased to American and United by various financing subsidiaries of Airbus Industries SAS, the agency noted.
