Credit Suisse launches CS Multi-Asset Futures Strategy Index

By Tali David

Minneapolis, Feb. 13 - Credit Suisse AG launched the CS Multi-Asset Futures Strategy Index, according to a company press release.

The index is a dynamic, rules-based index designed to generate positive absolute returns in all market cycles with low correlation to any one specific asset class, Credit Suisse said. The index aims to provide many of the advantages of managed, quantitative strategies, with the simplicity of investing in an index product.

The index's methodology harnesses upward and downward momentum throughout a universe of 44 single-asset indexes. The index rebalances periodically to capture changing market trends and may range from being 100% long to 100% short at any given time, with a maximum allocation of 10% to any one position.

"Today's investors are looking for alpha solutions that go beyond traditional notions of asset allocation and which offer true portfolio diversification in all market conditions," Oscar Bleetstein, head of commodity investor sales for the Americas, said in the release.

"CSMF offers an approach that is designed to be similar to many systematic hedge funds and CTAs but with the advantages of high transparency, daily liquidity and typically a lower cost structure," he added.

The financial services provider is based in Zurich.
