Moody's rates AIG Capital A2

Moody's Investors Service said it assigned A2 senior unsecured and Prime-1 ratings to AIG Capital Corp.

The outlook is negative, mirroring the outlook of operating subsidiaries International Lease Finance Corp. (A1/negative) and American General Finance Corp. (A1/negative), and its ultimate parent American International Group, Inc. (Aa3/negative).

Ratings reflect its well-positioned businesses in consumer finance, aircraft finance and asset management, the agency said, as well as expectations that these businesses will provide adequate earnings and dividend capacity.

Ratings are constrained by the structural subordination of its senior creditors, Moody's said.
