Corinthian U.S. trustee appoints seven to official student committee

New York, May 18 – Corinthian Colleges, Inc.’s U.S. trustee, Andrew R. Vara, assigned a seven-member official committee of student creditors to the company, according to a Friday notice with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.
Members of the committee are Tasha Courtright of Lake Elsinore, Calif.; Jessica King of Newport News, Va.; Amber Thompson of San Jose, Calif.; Crystal Loeser of Salida, Calif.; Michael Adorno-Miranda of Colorado Springs, Colo.; Krystle Powell of San Francisco; and Brittany Ann Smith Jackl of Orange Park, Fla.
As previously reported, the students have claims against the company totaling more than $25 billion.
Corinthian Colleges, a Santa Ana, Calif.-based post-secondary education company, filed for bankruptcy on May 4. The Chapter 11 case number is 15-10952.
