S&P affirms Aguascalientes

Standard & Poor's said it affirmed its AA(mx) national-scale rating on the State of Aguascalientes, United Mexican States.

The outlook remains stable.

According to S&P credit analyst Daniela Brandazza, the rating is supported by Aguascalientes' diversified economy, solid management policies, adequate budgetary performance and limited pension liability.

"The stable outlook reflects the state's solid economic growth trend and professional management, which has implemented permanent progressive public policies and good administrative practices," Brandazza said.

"It also reflects the fact that management will control debt levels over the next several years and will maintain a strong financial performance."
