Congoleum posts $6.39 million March operating profit

Pittsburgh, May 17 - Congoleum Corp. reported a $6.39 million operating profit for March on sales of $33.16 million, according to its monthly operating report filed Tuesday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey.
In February, the company posted a $783,000 loss on sales of $17.99 million.
The net profit for March was $1.33 million.
Cash and cash equivalents on March 31 were $21.56 million, up from $17.81 million on Feb. 28.
Congoleum, a Mercerville, N.J.-based flooring company, filed for bankruptcy on Dec. 31, 2003. Its Chapter 11 case number is 03-51524.
