S&P ups Comision Federal de Electricidad outlook to positive

Standard & Poor's said it revised the outlook on the foreign currency corporate credit rating on the Comision Federal de Electricidad to positive from stable.

At the same time, the agency said it raised its local currency long-term corporate credit rating on Comision Federal de Electricidad to A- from BBB+.

The outlook on the local currency rating is stable.

The rating action follows the outlook revision on the United Mexican States to positive from stable, S&P said, noting that the upgrade of Comision Federal de Electricidad reflects improvement in its operating reserve margin during the past couple of years and the reduction in the uncertainties regarding the independent power producer scheme.
