S&P: views on six U.S. banks to negative

S&P said it revised the outlooks for BOK Financial Corp., Cadence Bancorporation, Comerica Inc., Cullen/Frost Bankers Inc., Hancock Whitney Corp., and Zions Bancorporation NA to negative from stable to negative from stable.

“The outlook revisions primarily reflect our view that plunging oil and natural gas prices could lead to asset quality deterioration for U.S. regional banks that have large direct energy exposures or those that operate in economies with a heavy reliance on the energy industry,” said S&P in a press release.

The agency affirmed each of the bank’s ratings.
