Columbia Global Extended Alpha Fund taps Robson to manage portfolio

By Toni Weeks

San Diego, Dec. 8 - The Columbia Global Extended Alpha Fund had changed its portfolio management team, according to a 497 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Neil Robson was added to the team on Dec. 8 as portfolio manager. Stephen Thornber, the deputy portfolio manager, has managed the fund since June 6, 2011. Both are employed by the fund's subadviser, Threadneedle International, Ltd.

Robson, a member of Threadneedle's global equities team, joined the firm in 2011. Prior to that, he was a fund manager at Martin Currie from 2010 to 2011 and head of global equity at Pioneer Investments from 2003 to 2009.

Jeremy Podger is no longer a portfolio manager for the fund.

The fund's investment adviser is Boston-based Columbia Management Investment Advisers, LLC.
