New York, April 2 - The Republic of Colombia held a bank meeting on Friday in New York to launch a $250 million syndicated credit facility, according to an informed source.

BNP Paribas and JPMorgan Securities are the lead banks on the deal, with ABN Amro, Banco de Bogota, Barclays, BBVA, Deutsche Bank, HVB, Mizuho and Standard Bank all signed on as committed arrangers.

The facility, which is part of Colombia's financing plan for 2004, is denominated in U.S. dollars and contains a tenor of five years, the source added.
