Citigroup plans principal-protected notes linked to currencies

New York, Jan. 10 - Citigroup Funding Inc. plans to price an issue of 0% principal-protected notes due 2008 linked to a currency basket, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The basket includes equal weights of the Korean won, Singapore dollar, Philippines peso and Indian rupee, all relative to the dollar.

At maturity, investors will receive par plus any gain times a participation rate of between 140% and 160%. Investors will receive at least par.

Citigroup Financial Products, Inc. will be the agent for the offering.
