S&P: Cincinnati Financial view to positive

Standard & Poor’s said it affirmed the BBB counterparty credit rating on Cincinnati Financial Corp. and the A counterparty and financial strength ratings on its operating subsidiaries.

The agency also said it revised the outlook on all of these companies to positive from stable.

The outlook revision reflects a view that Cincinnati Financial has shown general underwriting improvement over the past few years with a track record of mitigating potential capital and earnings volatility, S&P said.

The ratings also consider its strong competitive position, underscored by a favorable geographical footprint, the agency said.
