Fitch affirms CIMB Bank

Fitch Ratings said it affirmed CIMB Bank Bhd's and CIMB Investment Bank Bhd's ratings.

The outlook is stable.

The bank's ratings reflect its improved financial profile over the past three to four years, Fitch said. Fitch said this, in turn, supports the bank's ability to satisfactorily negotiate the difficult economic environment.

Pressures on new delinquencies have inevitably increased as a result of the economic downturn, which may moderate CIMB Bank's financial performance in 2009 and 2010, the agency added.
