Ciena Capital disclosure statement hearing postponed to Sept. 1

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, Aug. 23 - Ciena Capital LLC's disclosure statement hearing has been adjourned to Sept. 1 from Aug. 25, according to a Friday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

As previously reported, the company's attorneys said that the company received comments regarding the disclosure statement and understand that the U.S. Small Business Administration plans to file a protective objection to the statement.

The company said a brief adjournment would allow "consensual resolutions to be reached."

Ciena is a New York-based portfolio company for Allied Capital, a business development company that invests long-term debt and equity capital in middle market businesses. The company filed for bankruptcy on Sept. 30, 2008. Its Chapter 11 case number is 08-13783.
