Winn-Dixie granted court OK for $1.5 million Miami reclamation center sale

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, Nov. 18 - Winn-Dixie Stores, Inc. obtained approval to sell its Miami reclamation center for $1.5 million to Commercial Long Trading, Inc., according to a Friday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Florida.

Before filing for bankruptcy, Winn-Dixie used the 54,460 square-foot facility as a warehouse to store damaged or unsellable goods pending return to vendors. Since filing for bankruptcy, the company has closed the reclamation center and relocated the operation to headquarters in Jacksonville, Fla.

Winn-Dixie, a supermarket company, filed for Chapter 11 on Feb. 21, 2005 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York. The case was later transferred to the Middle District of Florida. Its Chapter 11 case number is 05-03817.
