Wellman unsecured creditors committee appointed

Portland, Ore., March 10 - Wellman, Inc.'s official committee of unsecured creditors was appointed Monday by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

The committee members are: Victor Alvarado of BP Amoco Chemical Co., Naperville, Ill.; Donald Hamilton of Equistar Chemicals, LP, Houston; John Wahowski of Pillowtex Corp., Kannopolis, N.C.; Craig Stimpert of A&R Logistics, Morris, Ill.; Steve Tritt of Nilit America Corp., Greensboro, N.C.; Jody Tada of American Citadel Guard, Inc.; and Al Goldberg of Columbia Recycling Corp., Dalton, Ga.

Wellman, a Fort Mill, S.C., polyester products manufacturer, filed for bankruptcy on Feb. 22. Its Chapter 11 case number is 08-10595.
