Moody’s rates UBS Group notes Baa2

Moody's Investors Service said it assigned a Baa2 senior unsecured debt rating to the $2.5 billion in senior debt notes issued from UBS Group Funding (Jersey) Ltd.’s $30 billion senior debt program.

Issuance under the program is guaranteed by UBS Group AG (preferred stock non-cumulative: Ba1 (hyb)), the parent holding company for UBS AG (deposits at Aa3, senior debt at A1, stable).

The senior ratings reflect the credit profile of UBS Group AG, the agency said, since the guarantee is consistent with Moody's principles for credit substitution.
