Fitch rates UnitedHealth notes A

Fitch Ratings said it assigned an A rating to UnitedHealth Group Inc.’s offering of up to $6 billion of senior unsecured notes.

Proceeds will go toward general corporate purposes, including paying down commercial paper, bank revolving debt, and a July 2020 maturity.

“As a result, Fitch considers the issuance to be neutral to UNH’s financial leverage ratios,” Fitch said in a press release.

Fitch ratings for UnitedHealth and its subsidiaries are not affected by this rating action, the agency said.
