Houston Higher Education defeases $537.32 million Rice University bonds

Madison, Wis., May 7 – The Houston Higher Education Finance Corp. defeased its Rice University Project series 2007A and 2007B revenue bonds and 2013A and 2013B higher education revenue refunding bonds, according to notices.

The issuer defeased a portion of 2007A bonds totaling $190,135,000, all $100 million outstanding 2007B bonds, all $147.18 million outstanding 2013A bonds and all $100 million outstanding 2013B bonds.

The defeased 2007A bonds will be redeemed on May 15, 2017, the 2007B bonds will be redeemed on Nov. 15, 2017, and both series of 2013 bonds will be redeemed on May 16, 2016.

The Bank of New York Mellon Trust Co., NA is the trustee.
