S&P assigns Sun Life debentures A

S&P said it assigned its A debt rating to multiple tranches of Sun Life Financial Inc.'s issuance of fixed-to-floating-rate subordinated debentures maturing in 2031, 2033 and 2036.

Sun Life will use the proceeds for general corporate purposes, which may include funding for the DentaQuest acquisition, investments in subsidiaries, repayment of indebtedness and other strategic investments.
