S&P boosts SunCom

Standard & Poor's said it raised its ratings on SunCom Wireless Holdings Inc., including the corporate credit rating, which was raised to B- from CCC+.

The upgrade reflects SunCom's better operating performance, as well as the favorable impact of its May subordinated debt exchange, the agency said.

The outlook is stable.

According to S&P, while still vulnerable, SunCom's business position has improved over the last 18 months as it has transitioned to a stand-alone regional wireless provider.
