New Issue: RBC sells $4 million 8.3% contingent coupon autocalls tied to indexes
By Susanna Moon
Chicago, Nov. 22 – Royal Bank of Canada priced $4 million of autocallable contingent coupon barrier notes due Nov. 20, 2019 linked to the lesser performing of the Russell 2000 index and the S&P 500 index, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The notes pay a contingent monthly coupon at an annual rate of 8.3% if each index closes at or above its 70% coupon barrier on the observation date for that month.
The notes will be called at par if each index closes at or above its initial level on any observation date.
The payout at maturity will be par unless either index finishes below its 70% trigger level, in which case investors will be fully exposed to any losses of the worse performing index.
