Scotiabank plans to price capped buffered notes linked to S&P 500

Madison, Wis., Jan. 14 - Bank of Nova Scotia plans to price 0% series A capped buffered enhanced participation notes due Jan. 28, 2016 linked to the S&P 500 index, according to a 424B5 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The payout at maturity will be par plus 1.5 times any index gain, up to a maximum payment of $1,153.75 per $1,000 principal amount.
Investors will receive par if the index falls by up to 10% and will lose 1.1111% for every 1% decline beyond 10%.
Scotia Capital (USA) Inc. is the underwriter.
The notes will price on Jan. 24 and settle on Jan. 29.
The Cusip number is 064159DH6.
