Moody's: Outlook stable for Russian bank debt

Moody's Investors Service said it changed to stable from positive the outlook on the A2 senior unsecured foreign-currency debt ratings of Bank VTB, JSC, Bank VTB 24 and Sberbank and on the A3 senior unsecured debt ratings of Gazprombank, Bank of Moscow and Russian Agricultural Bank.

The agency said these actions have been triggered by the change in outlook on key Russian sovereign ratings to stable from positive.

The sovereign rating actions primarily reflect the heightened pressure that has been exerted upon Russia's external liquidity position as the global credit crisis has deepened and, more importantly, the equivocal policy response that such pressures have triggered, Moody's said.
