Moody's assigns A2 to Rockingham County COPs

Moody's Investors Service said it assigned an A2 rating to Rockingham County, N.C.'s $50.235 million certificates of participation, series 2008, issued through the Rockingham County Finance Corp.

Sale of the bonds is expected on July 16.

Proceeds of the series 2008 certificates will finance the construction and equipping of a new county public safety complex - including a courthouse, a jail, a sheriff facility, and an emergency services facility - and other emergency response facilities and equipment.

Concurrently, Moody's assigned an A1 issuer rating to Rockingham County, which reflects the county's implied general obligation, unlimited tax pledge.
