ResCap examiner postpones report filing to May 13 to assist mediation

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, May 10 - Residential Capital, LLC's court-appointed examiner postponed the filing of the report of his findings to 3 p.m. ET on May 13 to assist the company's mediation process, according to a Friday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

As previously reported, examiner Arthur J. Gonzalez had originally planned to file his report on May 10.

Gonzalez said judge James M. Peck informed him that progress was being made in mediation, and the parties hope additional time will "result in a consensual resolution of the ResCap bankruptcy cases."

The mediator asked the examiner to postpone the filing of his report to May 13.

Residential Capital, a New York-based mortgage originator and servicer, filed for bankruptcy on May 14, 2012. Its case number is 12-12020.
