National Bank of Canada calls NBC Trust Capital Securities series 1

New York, May 16 – National Bank of Canada said its open-end trust NBC Capital Trust will redeem all C$225 million of its NBC Trust Capital Securities – Series 1.

The capital securities will be redeemed at par on June 30 plus the distribution payable on June 30.

National Bank of Canada said the redemption will have no effect on its common equity tier 1 capital ratio.

National Bank of Canada is a Montreal-based financial institution.
