Mintz Levin hires Hirshfield as member of bankruptcy practice

Pittsburgh, May 12 - Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky and Popeo, PC has hired Stuart Hirshfield as a member of its bankruptcy, restructuring and commercial law practice in its New York office, according to a news release.

The firm said Hirshfield has experience representing creditors' committees, debtors, boards and committees of directors in complex workouts.

Most recently, Hirshfield was a partner with Ropes & Gray.

According to the release, he has led bankruptcy mergers and acquisitions, various bankruptcy litigation matters, including preference and fraudulent transfer litigation, asset-based lending, structuring of deals and international insolvency matters throughout his career.

Hirshfield is listed in Euro money's Guide to the World's Leading Bankruptcy and Restructuring Lawyers, New York Super Lawyers, The Best Lawyers in America for Credit-Debtor Rights Law and the International Who's Who of Business Lawyers (Insolvency and Restructuring).

He is a former member of the boards of directors of the American College of Bankruptcy and the American College of Bankruptcy Foundation.

Hirshfield earned his bachelor's degree from Syracuse University and his law degree from Syracuse University College of Law. He is admitted to practice in New York, as well as in the U.S. District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the Eastern District of Wisconsin and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit.

Mintz Levin is a law firm with offices in the United States and the United Kingdom.
