Goldman plans three-year buffered notes tied to iShares MSCI EM fund

Olympia, Wash., Oct. 17 – GS Finance Corp. plans to price 0% buffered notes due Oct. 27, 2021 linked to the iShares MSCI Emerging Markets ETF, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The payout at maturity will be par plus any fund gain, up to a maximum settlement amount of $1,300 for each $1,000 principal amount.

Investors will receive par if the fund falls by up to 40% and will lose 1% for each 1% decline beyond 40%.

The notes are guaranteed by Goldman Sachs Group, Inc.

Goldman Sachs & Co. is the underwriter.

The notes will price on Oct. 19 and settle on Oct. 24.

The Cusip number is 40056EBG2.
