New Issue: Goldman Sachs prices $8.98 million leveraged buffered notes linked to iShares MSCI EM

San Diego, Nov. 1 - Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. priced $8.98 million of 0% leveraged buffered index fund-linked notes due Nov. 4, 2013 tied to the iShares MSCI Emerging Markets index fund, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

If the fund return is positive, the payout at maturity will be par plus double the gain in the fund, subject to a maximum return of $1,450 per $1,000 note.

Investors will receive par if the fund falls by up to 10% and will share in losses beyond 10%.

The initial fund level is lower than the actual closing level of $42.40 on the pricing date.

Goldman, Sachs & Co. is the underwriter.
