S&P rates Intel notes A+

S&P said it assigned an A+ issue-level rating to Intel Corp.'s senior unsecured notes due 2047.

Proceeds will be used to refinance portions of existing debt.

The new notes are rated the same as the A+ corporate credit rating on the company.

The positive outlook is unchanged, and the A-1+ short-term rating remains on CreditWatch, where it was placed with negative implications on March 15.

“We characterize Intel's financial risk profile as minimal, which incorporates our expectation that the company's leverage will remain below 1x over the next two years,” S&P said in a news release.
