Markit says U.S. leveraged loans index rose 0.3% in week of Feb. 27

New York, March 5 - The Markit iBoxx USD Leveraged Loans index gained 0.3% in the week of Feb. 27, compared to a strengthening of 0.14% in the week of Feb. 20, according to data from Markit Group Ltd.

Meanwhile, the Markit iBoxx USD Liquid Leveraged Loans was better by 0.37% last week, versus a 0.19% improvement in the prior week.

Year to date, the Leveraged Loans index is up 3.05%, and the Liquid Leveraged Loans index has gained 3.72%.

The average bid in North America was 92.77, up from 92.62 in the week of Feb. 20.

"The market received a shot of confidence from LTRO," said Otis Casey, director and loan market analyst at Markit.

"In both North America and Europe, average bids for leveraged loans are at their highest since last August," Casey added.
