Immersion investor Ramius buys 1.36 million shares for 14.6% stake

Charlotte, N.C., Nov. 2 - Immersion Corp. investor Ramius Value and Opportunity Master Fund Ltd. and its affiliates bought 1.36 million shares of the company's stock on Oct. 26 and Oct. 30 at prices from $3.88 to $4.21 per share, according to a schedule 13D/A filed on Monday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Between Oct. 5 and Oct. 23, Ramius bought 895,900 shares for a total stake in the company of 9.8%, a prior SEC filing said.

Ramius beneficially owns 4,090,000 shares, or 14.6%, of the San Jose, Calif.-based company's outstanding stock.

Immersion develops, licenses and markets digital touch technology and products.
