Milwaukee, April 21 - Jefferies Group Inc. recently hired Nolan Heske, James Palen and Evan Wallach as managing directors in the high-yield fixed-income group, according to a company news release.

Heske, Palen and Wallach are responsible for building the firm's trading and sales effort in aviation and transportation-related securities.

They have experience with the trading, structuring and distribution of transactions in the aviation sector, including equipment trust certificates, passthrough certificates, enhanced equipment trust certificates, secured loans of airlines and aircraft and engine securitizations for operating lease companies, as well as similar transactions in rail, container and related sectors.

Heske joins Jefferies from Guggenheim Securities, where he was responsible for trading airline EETCs and ETCs as well as aircraft and engine securitization issues.

Previously, Heske was a vice president in fixed income at Piper Jaffray, specializing in the analysis and sales of airline and aircraft-backed securities. He has also held positions at Societe Generale and Bear Stearns.

Palen is also from Guggenheim Securities, where he was most recently a managing director, responsible for the sales, trading and structuring of airline and transportation securities.

Palen was previously a director at Credit Suisse, responsible for secured capital market transactions for transportation clients.

Before joining Jefferies, Wallach was also managing director at Guggenheim Securities, responsible for sales, trading and structuring of airline and aircraft securities.

Prior to that, Wallach was a managing director in fixed income at Piper Jaffray, responsible for airline/aircraft capital markets and secondary sales. He has held senior-level positions with CIT Aerospace Group, Drexel Burnham Lambert and Bankers Trust and has been vice president in finance for CS Aviation.
