First Asset Investment Grade Bond ETF begins trading in U.S. dollars

By Tali Rackner

Minneapolis, Dec. 12 – First Asset Investment Management Inc. announced that dollar-denominated units of the First Asset Investment Grade Bond ETF began trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange on Tuesday under the ticker symbol FIG.U, according to a press release.

Canadian dollar units have been available since August 2016, trading under the symbol FIG.

The fund looks to provide exposure to a high-quality, diversified mix of investment-grade corporate bonds from issuers in Canada, the United States and Europe.

“The investment objectives of the ETF are to provide unitholders with monthly cash distributions and to maximize total returns for unitholders consisting primarily of monthly distributions, while reducing risk and preserving capital,” the release said.

“Under normal market conditions, the ETF will be primarily invested in investment-grade bonds and other investment-grade debt securities.”

Marret Asset Management Inc. manages the fund.

First Asset Investment Management is based in Toronto.
