Freddie Mac plans benchmark-sized sale of three-year Reference Notes on Thursday

By Andrea Heisinger

New York, Dec. 14 - Freddie Mac is planning a benchmark-sized sale of three-year Reference Notes on Thursday, according to a news release.

Price talk was at 34 basis points over Treasuries prior to the market close Wednesday, a trader said, adding that level could "possibly move wider" prior to pricing on Thursday.

"Spreads are widening a bit across the curve," he said. "There's pressure on spreads at the year-end."

The notes are set to settle on Friday.

Bookrunners are BNP Paribas Securities Corp., Deutsche Bank Securities Inc. and UBS Securities LLC.

The mortgage lender is based in Tysons Corner, Va.
